How do I know if my medical bill is wrong?

What are the most common medical billing errors?
The most common medical billing errors are duplicate charges, unbundled code pairs (procedures billed separately that Medicare NCCI rules say should be billed together), upcoding, charges your EOB already rejected, self-pay overcharges above posted prices, and missing nonprofit financial-assistance (charity care) discounts. The checks available depend on the documents, supported rules, and service selected; a preliminary scan cannot rule out every error.
Can I dispute a hospital bill myself?
Yes. You can request an itemized bill, point out specific errors in writing, and cite the billing rules and state statutes that apply — no lawyer required. IsMyBillWrong prepares those dispute letters in your own name so you can review, sign, and mail them yourself.
How much does it cost?
The preliminary scan is free nationwide. In active states, a full Standard Audit is $49 and a Complete Package is $99. An eligible audit can be upgraded for $50. Where a verified complaint route exists, the regulator complaint is $19; each response-aware follow-up round is $19. We never take a percentage of what you save.
